New Ways To Find Info On Drupal Modules

It was only a couple of years ago that I could head on over to the Drupal modules page and keep tabs on the progress there with a quick visit. It was fairly easy to remember most of the different options available. Today with over 30 categories, some containing over 200 listings, a person could spend some serious time paging through all the different choices and still not see them all.

It is sometimes helpful to type a description of the desired feature into the search box at Drupal in the hopes that a module bearing the same name will pop up in the results. It is also helpful that some of the big names in the Drupal arena have built sites to address this happy problem.

Module Finder is a feature of the Drupal Modules site owned and operated by John Forsythe. The Module Finder has a nice set of sorting features, lists of the highest rated and most downloaded modules, and a place for folks to leave module reviews.

Drupal Tough Love looks to be a fairly new site operated by Drupal rockstars chx and Morbus Iff. The module reviews here may be of more interest to coders than to someone who is interested in finding out which module does what, but the information in the review is very complete and well worth a read.
